U.S. President Barack Obama said that he is well aware of the expectations of the world since he first took the office this year. He believes that these expectations are not about him but how will the United States will lead in global change. He said that at the time he took office, the world view his country with distrust but he wants the world to know that no matter where you came from, all of us share a common future.
President Obama said that speeches alone will not change anything but everyone must do its part to make a change. He proudly told everybody the actions that United States have taken in the first nine months of his presidency. He said,
“America will live its values, and we will lead by example”
In his speech, he again mentioned about U.S. goal to dismantle and beat al-Qaeda and its allies. He said that with the help of other nations they would be able to end the war and secure the people in Afghanistan and Pakistan. At the Conference on Disarmament, United States and Russia work plan to negotiate an end to the production of fissile materials for nuclear weapons. And he also said that U.S. Secretary of State will be the first senior American representative to the annual Members Conference of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty.
The main theme of Obama’s speech was his emphasis on bringing peace in the world; non-proliferation and disarmament; and the promotion of security for the people.
