The 10-year old Colby Curtin from Huntington Beach who was diagnosed with terminal vascular cancer, a rare form of cancer, has a final wish before she dies. The doctor saw a tumor in her liver as what Lisa Curtin, Colby’s mother, said three years ago.
Colby was able to see “UP” movie preview after watching “Monsters vs Aliens“. From that day, Colby was so desperate to watch the movie. But her health began to worsen and she can’t be able to watch it in theaters. A family friend (the name was not given) was able to guessed an employee name to pass the automated messaging system, they narrate Colby’s situation and then the call was transferred. PIXAR immediately flew to Huftington Beach with the “UP” DVD, posters, and bag of stuffed animals of characters in the movie.
The DVD and PIXAR employee have arrived and Colby was still hanging on. But Colby wasn’t able to watch the film for she can’t open her eyes anymore. Her mother narrated the story while they watch the movie. According to OCREGISTER, after seven hours Colby died.
Here’s the video from OCregister.com:
PIXAR was so good. Colby’s dying wish was granted and at the very last moment of her life, though she haven’t watched the film, she might have heard the characters in the movie and her mother narrating the scenes in the story.
