There are many doctors and researchers are very dedicated in finding solutions for the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. And recently, a nutritional drink called Souvenaid helps restore loss synapses which causes Alzheimer’s disease. It is a medical food taken under the supervision of a doctor developed by a French food-products multinational based in Paris called Groupe Danone.
Souvenaid contain antioxidants, B vitamins, choline, phospholipids, the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA, and uridine monophosphate. According to Dr. Richard Wurtman, professor of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and co-author of the study said that these nutrients if combined together will have a great effect and showed significant memory improvement rather than taking a supplement of any one of them.
Some of the researchers in neurology said that Souvenaid is not really the cure for Alzheimer’s disease. General manager of Nutricia America (unit of Danone) Nigel Hughes said that the product is effective to those people with very mild but quite real Alzheimers but there is no evidence whether the product is safe to be taken by anyone who does not have mild Alzheimer’s disease.
