Israel Prime Minister Binyamin “Bibi” Netanyahu said that the government have provided 1bn shekels (£170m) for their project which will prevent infiltrators, terrorists, African migrants and illegal workers from crossing their land. According to Israeli police, about 100 to 200 African migrants arrive every week looking for jobs and others in search for better living conditions.
Israel is going to build a fence along Egyptian border in Eilat, Israel’s southernmost resort city, and Nitzana, near the border with the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip, equipped with advance surveillance tools. The full length of the border is around 270km (170 miles) and consist of two layers: one with barbed wire and the other has a radar. The said project will be completed in two years.
