Complete List of 2010 Golden Globe Awards Winners

By: Bridgette Hudson | Monday, January 18, 2010

The 67th Golden Globe, honoring the best in film and television for 2009, was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday, January 17, 2010. Presented by Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), it was telecast live by NBC and hosted by The Office star Ricky Gervais.

It was the big night for James Cameron. He won the “Best Director” award and his science fiction epic box office film “Avatar,” which grossed $1.6 billion worldwide, second only to “Titanic” with $1.8 billion, won the Golden Globe for best dramatic motion picture. The film beats “The Hurt Locker” which won 2 Critic’s Choice Awards, Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds,” “Precious: Based On The Novel Push By Sapphire,” and Lee Daniels’ “Up In The Air.”

“Hopefully, this is part of a trend of the acceptance of science fiction as a legitimate, dramatic form of cinema.”

James Cameron, Canadian film director
