Adam Sandler, actor and founder of film production company, Happy Madison, has purchased the rights to Patrick Jean’s latest video game short film entitled “Pixels.” Columbia Pictures and Happy Madison are interested in turning this short film to a big screen hit.
“Pixels” movie is all about the invasion of 8-bits creatures in New York. Columbia and Happy Madison plans to make a “Ghostbusters”-style action comedy film and they’re going to make it in 3D.
Even though it wasn’t filmed yet, it already received several negative comments from video game fanatics and movie critics. They believed that this should not be transformed into feature film because it doesn’t have any story behind. Yes, maybe for now, it doesn’t really make sense but looking at the trailer, this can turn out to be nice and interesting film.
