By Dianne Blair | Sunday, January 24, 2010

Quentin Tarantino’s war film, Inglourious Basterds, won this year’s Screen Actors Guild Awards’ “Best Movie” category beating Rob Marshall’s musical-romantic film – Nine, Kathryn Bigelow’s war thriller – The Hurt Locker, Lone Scherfig’s An Education” based on the autobiographical memoir of journalist Lynn Barber, and Lee Daniels adaptation of novel “Push” – Precious.

Sandra Bullock who plays real-life Memphis interior designer Leigh Anne Tuohy in the movie “The Blind Side,” received the “Most Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role” award. Bullock who also won the “Best Drama Actress” award in Golden Globe last Sunday night (Jan. 17) for the same role, beat Meryl Streep, her toughest competitor for the award season this year.

Bullock keeps on avoiding answering questions regarding her Oscar chances in March. She doesn’t want to make any comment for she’s not actually expecting anything right now. She really appreciate the SAG award and the Golden Globe award and even though she haven’t receive the trophies, she said that she was “beyond stunned” when she discovered she had been nominated.

“Shhhhh. Shhhh. Shhhh… I would be a hostess or a waitress or a house restorer before I ever considered myself an actor, because I never thought I was good enough.”
